Repeat after me:
“I take you,
to have and to hold,
from this day forward,
for better, for worse,
for richer, for poorer,
in sickness and in health,
to love and to cherish.”
Will you say yes? Not just to anyone – but to the most important person in your life: YOU.
You’re the person who’ll always be there. You can’t escape, hide or break up from yourself. So, why not make a 100% commitment to that relationship?
Are you willing to do that? To go ALL IN and stand by your side, no matter what?
Like when you screw things up. Or when you eat too many cookies. Or when you say the wrong things and make mistakes. Those times when your autopilot is set on criticizing, judging or beating yourself up.
When you fear.
When you complain.
When you stumble and fall.
When you resist to change.
When you hurt someone else.
When you have negative self-talk.
When you want to always be right.
When you label yourself and others.
When you realize your limiting beliefs.
When you feel the need to impress others.
When you blame yourself or someone else.
When you practice self-destructive behavior.
When you dwell in the past or worry about the future.
In the times when it’s MOST difficult, will you have your own back?
Will you practice compassion, affection and love towards yourself when you need it the most – but feel that you deserve it the least?
Don’t get me wrong. I think working and improving yourself is great, I’m your biggest supporter there! But the key in making enjoyable and lasting changes is this:
To love yourself – no matter what.
Not just some of the time. Not just when you’re being adore by others. Not just when you’re nailing stuff and crossing off to do’s.
I’m talking about treating yourself with respect, compassion and care. To ask yourself “how would someone who loves themselves think and act right now?” And then do that.
So, I ask you this:
Are you willing to say “I do”? Are you willing to commit 100% to YOU?
